Living the good

Hey Lien, thanks for the comment on my last post; it really made my day. School ends in 2 weeks or so.

Last night I was trying to study, but the neighbors were being loud, so I headed off to the park. At the park all these loud children appeared out of no where. Being children, they should have wondered off, but instead—and I’m not kidding you—they ran over to where I was and started playing next to me. Circling me. Singing around me. It’s super-cute, but I’m not getting any studying done, so I go back home. The neighbors leave, or they are being quiet, so I start studying for the test. Suddenly a dog starts barking. You guessed it; they bought a puppy. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, now I have to listen to a puppy barking all night.

I called the RAs. This has got to be the straw that breaks the camels back! The RAs said they’d come take the dog away (pets are not allowed; otherwise I would have brought my parrot with me). I didn’t want the RAs to take their puppy to the animal shelter. I was just hoping that they would move them to the housing where pets are allowed like they’ve done for other people who try to sneak dogs in. Before the RAs arrive, the neighbors appear and take the dog away. Then they speed off.

The RAs come, and tell me to call them when they come back home. This all plays out around 10 p.m. So they talk to them, and then when they leave, I hear a knock on the door and it’s them. The roommate’s girlfriend apologizes to me, and she says that this won’t happen again. But, this isn’t the same girlfriend that has been staying there. She’s much smaller. She’s talking very politely to me, flashing an insincere smile. I’m hoping this is the end of it, but I’m not 100% sold on their promises. I leave to call someone at the park (wanting some privacy) and while I’m at the park I hear my car alarm go off. Nice. I run back, but I don’t see any damage to my car. I’m freaking out wondering if they did something to it. I go into the bathroom and there is reddish-brown stuff all over the sink, floors and walls. At first, I though it was blood because I heard them arguing while I was inside the bathroom. Then, I notice a smell, and I guess it's hair dye. Inside the shower, the curtain has red stains all over the inside.
I go back to bed hoping that they clean up their mess. In the morning, I go into the bathroom and notice that there is still some dye around the sink. I guess they tried to clean it. I don’t want to lose my deposit, so I clean it.

Yeah, I guess the dog is staying at a friend's house. I got nothing against dogs, these are just tiny campus apartments with paper-thin walls. My kitchen is seven steps away from my bed. I can cook and make my bed at the same time. That's the size of this place. There are smaller rooms on campus, so I'm not complaining about the size. ;)
